WebIt's a piece of DnD heritage at this point and it has plenty to offer in both pillars. Additionally the strong gothic themes make it feel sufficiently different from most other settings in a fresh, campy, and unique way. Strahd is a GREAT villain with really strong plot reasons for toying with the players rather than just flattening them outright.
